Celebrating the Completion of SSE’s Mission and the Transition of Its Legacy

After eight years of delivering high-impact, values-led entrepreneurial education to more than 22,000 learners across New South Wales, the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship (SSE) has formally concluded its operations as of May 2025, in line with the successful completion of its strategic objectives.

Established to catalyse entrepreneurial mindsets and skills development across the state, SSE has fulfilled its foundational mission — empowering young people, diverse communities, and emerging changemakers with the tools, confidence, and capability to thrive in a dynamic future economy.

Throughout its lifecycle, SSE has designed and delivered a suite of nationally and globally recognised programs — including Invest In Yourself: Exploring Money and Self-Employment, Discovery, Startup Success, Navigator, and Youth Accelerator. These initiatives have reached thousands across regional and metropolitan areas, embedding real-world, future-focused learning in schools, communities, and industry. Our Digital Internship Program expanded our reach to over 20 international countries.

In a forward-looking step that ensures the continuity and national scaling of SSE’s most successful programs, these offerings will now transition to The ASE Group, a national organisation whose mission and values align strongly with SSE’s original mandate. This transition represents the strategic evolution of SSE’s work beyond the original scope and jurisdiction of its founding members.

“SSE was always intended as a catalytic initiative — one that would spark long-term change, build systemic capability, and ultimately enable new custodians to continue the work at scale,” said Dr Sarah Jones, former CEO of SSE. “We are proud of what has been achieved and confident that ASE will continue to amplify our legacy through their national platform.”

Professor Annabelle Duncan, Chair of SSE, reinforced this sentiment:

“SSE has delivered on its mission, advancing entrepreneurial education and access across NSW. As we now complete this chapter, we do so with optimism for what comes next. The ASE Group brings the capacity, alignment, and vision to take this work further — ensuring the impact of SSE continues to grow.”

The SSE Board extends its deepest gratitude to the partners, educators, alumni, and communities who have contributed to the organisation’s success. While SSE’s operational phase has reached its planned conclusion, its programs — and more importantly, its spirit of innovation, inclusion, and impact — will live on through ASE and the thousands of Australians whose journeys were shaped by SSE.
